Joseph Rogers Bastedo was born August 10, 1827 at Blenheim Twp.,  Oxford Co., Upper Canada and died May 8, 1900 at Toronto, ON., Canada.  He was the son of  Peter Bastedo (1794-1834) and Margaret Harnden Galbraith (1801-1882).  In 1850 in Princeton, Oxford Co., Canada West he married Mary Elizabeth Force (1831-1917).
