Sir Gilbert MacMickin was born 1548 at Killantringan, Wigtonshire, Scotland and died 1610  at Miltonise, Wigtonshire, Scotland.  He was the son of  Gilbert MacMichan III (1514-1560) and Isabel Hamilton.  He married Baroness Elisabeth Kennedy* (1567-1655)  d/o Hon. Sir Thomas Kennedy of Culzean & Elizabeth McGill.

 

*Baroness Kennedy was a descendant of Sir James Kennedy (the younger) and Lady Mary Stewart, daughter of Robert III Stewart, King of Scotland, a descendant of Robert III. She was thus a descendant of Robert Bruce and all the early kings of Scotland.
