Samuel Tovel Bastedo was born 1856 at Blenheim Twp.,  Oxford Co., Canada West and died December 2, 1926 at Ottawa, ON., Canada - buried Dec 4, 1926 at Toronto.  He was the son of David TIce Bastedo II (1824-1889) and Sarah Elizabeth Tovel (1822-1886).  On October 20, 1884 in Goderich, ON., Canada he married Ida Virginia Straubel (1860-?).
