Gertrude Christy Hughes (nee McMicking) was born July 16, 1889 at East Flamborough, Wentworth County, ON., Canada and died 1978 at Hammonton, New Jersey, USA.  She was the daughter of  Thomas Andrew McMicking  (1857-1925) and Esther Cornell (1867 -1941).  She married John Heman Hughes Jr. (1889-1968).
