John Malcolm Parker was born May 1882 in Stamford (Niagara Falls), On., Canada. He was the son of James Parker and Mary Eliza McMicking. He married June 22, 1910 in Stamford Charlotte Victoria White, daughter of Abraham White and Margaret Darby. She was born Aug 1888, and died December 28, 1918 in Niagara Falls, On., Canada. He married September 1, 1924 in Stamford Margaret Gillard, daughter of Henry Neil Gillard and Margaret McLeish,

* it appears that three of the children of John and Charlotte took the surname of their stepmother, Margaret "Gillard"
