Jacob Bastedo was born 1807 at Stamford Twp., Lincoln Co., Upper Canada and died June 10, 1878 at Milton, On., Canada.  He was the son of  David Tice Bastedo (1769-1854) and Elizabeth McMicking (1776-1840).  On January 9, 1833 he married first Margarete Sinclair (1813-1834).  In 1840 in Halton Co., Upper Canada he married second Hepzibah Chiver (1821-1912).
