William MacMickin was born 1700 at New Luce, Wigtonshire, Scotland and died 1777 at LIverpool, England.  He was the son of Gilbert MacMickin (1647-1731) and Janet Macillwain (nee Auld) (1650 -?).  He married Madeleine Duncan (1708-1800).
