Neil McMicking, Major General, C.B, C.B.E., D.S.O., M.C. was born June 3, 1894 at Bromfield, Shropshire, England and died April 25, 1963 at New Luce, Wigtonshire, Scotland - buried at Dunkeld, Scotland.   He was the son of Thomas George Torrance McMicking (1853-1939) and Margaret Rowand Bulloch (1854-1925).  in 1927 in England he married Margaret Winifred "Maggie" Landale (1903- 1989).
