Hugh Lawson Mitchell was born July 17, 1918 at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada and died October 25, 1990 at Seattle, Washington, USA.  He was the son of Hugh Howard Mitchell, MD (1883-1938) and Myrtle Sarah Acton (1890-1964).  On July 23, 1948 he married Dorothy Iris Davidson (1926-2006)
