Montford Delos Welter was born Oct 31, 1859 at Elgin Co. , Canada West and died September 18, 1899 at Willow City, North Dakota, USA.  He was the son of Unknown and Susan Welter (1831-1886).  On November 8, 1886 at St Thomas, ON., Canada he married Mary Ann "Minnie" Sims (1863-1949).
