James Russell McMicking was born April 1, 1836 at Stamford, Lincoln, Upper Canada and died September 4, 1917 at Stamford, (Niagara Falls) Ontaro, Canada.  He was the son of William McMicking (1805-1857) and Mary McClellan  (1808-1873).  He married first Martha McBerlie* (1837-1876).  On April 18, 1878 in Stamford he married second Margaret Alice "Maggie" Shugg  (1848-1929).

 

*Martha McBerlie died giving birth to Thomas Howard who also did not survive.
