Maj Gilbert McMicking, MP was born March 24, 1862 at Liverpool, England and died November 15, 1942 at Glasgow, Scotland.  He was the son of  Gilbert McMicking of Miltonise (1823-1890) and Helen Mary Macfarlane (1824-1883).  On November 1, 1893 at Kensington, UK he married first Gertrude Rosabel Katherine Gore (1871-1920).  On July 22,1921 at London, England he married second Ethel Eliza Binny Douglas (1876-1935).

 

Major Gilbert McMicking (24 March 1862 – 15 November 1942) was a Scottish Liberal Party politician. He served with the Honourable Artillery Company and was appointed a CMG in 1901. He was Member of Parliament (MP) for Kirkcudbrightshire from 1906 to January 1910, and from December 1910 until the constituency was abolished for the 1918 general election. He was then elected for the new Galloway constituency, and stood down at the 1922 general election.- Wikipedia
