James McMiken (aka) James McMeeken) was born 1778 in Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland and died 1862 in Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.   He was the son of John McMicking (1745-1814) and Margaret McMichael (1757 -?).  He married Marian Belle (Mary Bell) (1800-1845).
